How should I arrive to my appointment?
If you are new and booking the "Curl Therapy Experience":
If you are an established client and booking the "Curl Cut":
If you are arriving for a "Curl Cut" (no styling, just a cut), please arrive in a fresh, WELL-DEFINED Wash n' Go Set using your usual wash n go products (the set should be no older than 1-7 days. Not damp, greasy, oily or sticky). Please arrive as instructed to avoid additional fees and cancellation. Please do not arrive with the hair pulled back (no puffs, no buns, no head scarves, etc.).
If you are arriving specifically for a Rëzo Cut:
You must arrive with the hair completely shampooed and conditioned without ANY product. If the hair still has buildup at the time of your appointment, you will be charged for an additional fee to have it thoroughly wash (if time permits), or your appointment will be cancelled which will cause a cancellation fee (100% of the original service cost). Please do not arrive with the hair pulled back (no puffs, no buns, no head scarves, etc.).
Please do not arrive with the hair in a puff. It often times takes more time to detangle out and will require you pay a detangling fee charged per half hour or may have to be cancelled and charged a cancelation fee. Your service will have the best possible outcome when you arrive as instructed. However, if you prefer to pay the detangle fee for convenience, please add it to your appointment request in the notes section so that enough time is reserved. We will let you know if we can honor your request.
If you are arriving for a Silk Press or 2-strand Twist
Arrive with detangled hair that has been cleansed within the last 7 days (2 large braids or 2 large twists are ok), or arrive in a previous silk press (no older than approximately 2 weeks). DO NOT ARRIVE IN A PUFF FOR ANY SERVICE to avoid additional fees and cancellation (new and established).
I definitely need a maintenance cut, but I need a new shape!
Yessss!!! The cut is the most important aspect of a polished look! Just prepare to show 3 inspiration pics to your appointment. The "model" in the inspo pics should have a hair type similar to yours. Keep in mind, the inspiration pictures are only used as a reference point, and results will vary based on each individuals' unique attributes. How should I arrive for a "Curl Cut" express service?
Established clients only: arrive with hair in a WELL-DEFINED wash and go style (no older than 1-7 days-refer to the pic examples below of how to show up for this express service). Use your normal products that you would normally use to achieve your best wash n go set. Hair must not be damp, greasy or sticky. This is a dry cut only service (no cleansing or styling is included). Please email a current picture of your best wash n go (that you did on yourself) to be considered for this service as soon as you request it. No pic, no appointment. How should I arrive for a "Rëzo Cut"?
For a Rëzo Cut (also boked under "Curl Cut" just indicate that in the notes section of your request), you must arrive with the hair completely shampooed and conditioned without ANY product and completely dry. No oil, not even a leave-in conditioner. Please email a current picture of your hair to be considered for this service as soon as you request it. No pic, no appointment. I have natural and curly hair, but I like to wear it straight sometimes. Would a curl cut be right for me?
Both a Curl Cut and Rëzo Cut is recommend for people who wear their natural curls at least 99% of the time. When you straighten the hair after receiving a curly cut from any Curl Specialist, the shape will not look as even (unless you curl or wave the hair after straightening). If you're unsure, I recommend booking a consultation to receive a more personalized recommendation.
I'm trying to decide between a "Rëzo Cut" or a "Curl Cut".
They are both curly cuts! However, I would request a consultation to receive a more personalized recommendation. Also be prepared to show 3 inspo pics of shapes you like on persons who have a similar hair type as yours, and also 3 pics of cuts you don't like.
Do you charge a detangle fee?
I know detangling seems like a sport for some! It does take some skill and patience to master. However, It's best to arrive to your appointment with completely detangled hair to avoid delays. If it is discovered that your hair is very tangled during your session, a detangle fee charged per half-hour will be applied to your final service cost.
Will I get a 7-day wash-n-go?
It's possible! However, it's really based on many factors for each individual client:
- How well they do their wash n go and how it's maintained
- Their activity level (sweaty, vigorous exercises, outdoor activity, etc.)
- Overall texture, hydration level, needs and lifestyle
- Traveling between different climates through out the Bay Area, different states, etc.
I'm interested in becoming a new client. I'm already on a water-soluble regimen, and my last curly cut was done recently by a natural/curly hair specialist. What should I book?
Thank you for considering me as your hairstylist! As a new potential client, if you haven't mastered your wash n go routine or you still need guidance for your regimen, the best option would be to book the "Curl Therapy Experience + Curl Cut".
I want to chemically straighten my hair. Can I schedule an appointment?
Sorry, I'm no longer accepting new clients for "Japanese Straightening". This service is phasing out; but I could give you a referral.
My hair is thinning. Can you examine my scalp at the time of my hair appointment?
I'm sorry to hear about your hair concerns. You can schedule a Trichological Discovery Meeting with me separately. Once we have mutually decided to partner with each other on getting to the source of your hair and scalp maladies, your hair loss follow-up service may/may not be done on the same day as your hair session.
Can I schedule a color appointment?
You have to first become an "established client" for hair services with me before receiving color services. Currently, I only provide color to established clientele that are a good candidate for color.
What is considered an "established" or "existing" client?
A client who receives regular hair appoinments with me at least every 3-4 months. Any requested service that goes beyond that time frame (without being maintained by me), will be rescheduled to the appropriate service on the new client booking calendar or the request will be declined.
I don't know what services I need but I am ready to schedule an appointment. What should I book?

Do you take children?
I'm only taking new clients ages 18 and up at this time.
